PRACTICE EHR HELP CENTER

Update – June 2020

Help Center > Latest Updates > June 2020 Update

OVERVIEW OF UPDATES three-images

Practice EHR is excited to share an overview of enhancements to the case management workflow (see # 1 – 4). These updates provide additional detail to the Authorization and Plan of Care Reports. The patient’s date of birth (#5) will now display on all prescriptions and the procedure code (#6) will display on all orders placed within the Lab section of the system. Additionally, a new workflow has been created for hospice patients (#7) and an amended clinical note can now be saved as a single document within Documents (#8). Finally, a new process has been introduced for Implementation Setup (#9) to improve communication between the practice and the Implementation Team. If you have any questions about these enhancements, do not hesitate to reach out.

1) “Location” and “Provider“ filters added to the Authorization Report: Two (2) additional filters have been added to the Authorization Report for further data management within the practice. The locations and providers are consistent with those included within the practice setup. Pathway: Reports > Clinical > Authorization Report.

2) “Case status” filter also added to the Authorization Report: An additional filter has been added to the Authorization Report to allow the user to filter by either “Active” or “Discharge.” Pathway: Reports > Clinical > Authorization Report.

3) “Location” filter and column added in the Plan Of Care Report: Similar to the change made within the Authorization Report, a location filter has been added in the Plan of Care Report for data management within the practice. Pathway: Reports > Clinical > Plan of Care.

4) “Plan” column added in Authorization Detail window: From one screen, users can now view the Plan associated with a specific authorization. Pathway: Patient > Insurance > Case Management > Select the authorization icon to see the details, including the new field “Plan.”

5) Patient’s DOB added to medication print: The patient’s date of birth (m/d/y) will now be included on the printed prescription. Pathway: Patient > Medication > Current Medication > Click on the print icon shown below.

6) CPT code added in lab order print: The CPT procedure code is now included with each order printed from the Lab feature within the system. This includes all services ordered – imaging, diagnostic cardiology, laboratory, and all other function studies. Pathway: Patient > Lab > Select the individual test(s) ordered and print the requisition.

7) Hospice flow updated: A checkbox “Pat On Hospice” has been added at the bottom of the patient’s insurance screen. This checkbox is populated based on the insurance eligibility response. If the eligibility confirms the patient is in hospice, additional hospice questions must be answered before the clinical note can be signed. Additionally, the comment color changes to purple in the Demographic screen when the patient is in hospice. Pathway: Patient > Insurance.

8) “Regenerate Document” option added for a signed off visit: Users can now regenerate documents after performing any change in the signed off visit to save a single PDF with the addendum. After they regenerate documents, an updated document with the same name and DOS will be created in “Documents” along with the latest inclusions. Pathway: Within the closed visit, select the Action icon, select Regenerate Document. Then view the consolidated report in Documents.

9) “System Setup” updated: There are now three options available once the feature tab (i.e., Lab, Data Migration, ERA Enrollment) has been selected – Initiate Setup, Not Needed, and Cancel. Previously, selecting the feature tab within the System Setup would automatically initiate the task without providing the opportunity to learn more about the feature before making that choice.
